Editorial Policy
Our guides exist to help you make a decision with real numbers. This page explains how we make them.
Sources
- We start from primary sources: the course provider’s own pages, and government sources such as the IRS, the U.S. Department of Education, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Federal Trade Commission.
- We link to every source we use, next to the claim it supports.
- When a provider does not publish a number, such as a price that depends on your country, we say so instead of estimating it.
Dates
Prices, schedules and tax limits change. Every guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated, and comparison pages show the date we checked each program. Always confirm the current terms on the official page before you pay.
Writing and review
Guides are written and checked by our editorial team. We use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help draft and edit text. A person checks every fact against the linked source before a guide is published.
Corrections
If you find an error, write to [email protected]. We review every report. When we fix a confirmed error, we update the page and its update date.
Advertising and independence
Some pages may show advertising. Advertisers and course providers do not review, approve or pay for our guides, and advertising does not change what we write. We are not affiliated with the programs we compare unless a guide says so.
What we do not do
We do not give personal financial, tax, legal or career advice. Our guides explain how things work so you can ask better questions of the provider, your employer or a tax professional.
